I started a month ago.
There are four owners, two married couples.
One, let's call him Bob, sits at the bar all day drinking and "working." If I ask him anything like "hey, do you know if x can be subbed with y" he will not know a single answer, yet he's supposed to be our floor manager when he's there.
Bob makes us claim every cash tip, and will fire anyone who doesn't.
We're not allowed to order kids food for our meals, even though our entrees are huge, American sized portions. We get 50% off our shift meal.
We get fired for shift drinks, and if you take a break and get a shifty, you have to pay for it.
One of the other owners, Jay, called the restaurant the other night after we closed the kitchen and when I was running around cleaning, just to complain we can't make him food anymore. I didn't realize it was Jay so I said, very curtly, what's up? Is there anything I can do for you? Then proceeds to yell at me for being unprofessional. I asked if he was fucking with me and he said no.
Guys, this is a pub and a restaurant.
We have a wood stove for pizzas, and another line for food. If you order a pizza and the line is backed up, you can get your pizza a full 30 minutes before the rest of the food comes out.
Our reviews are dropping because of this but nothing is being done.
Oh, also, we tip out 55%. 30 of which goes to kitchen.
