So a few months ago I was waiting on my tables and saw one of my slightly regular customers had a child with them. She looked so sad and barely spoke. I asked her name and they explained that she was their granddaughter. She said I just want to go outside, we have outdoor seating and I needed to bus a table so I offered to take her with me. They happily agreed. When we got outside she poured her little heart out to me, telling me every detail about her life. (She's 8) without going into detail she doesn't have the best life. I asked if she wanted a hug. She eagerly accepted.
They come in around 2 times a month now always at her request to see "her friend". Today I gave her a note to wish her a happy first day of school for tomorrow. She told me she can't wait to come back to tell me all about school! I just wanted to share how happy I am to have met her and how much I love those interactions but especially her! My little bestie ❤️
