Maybe I have been blessed ... Maybe I have had the best bosses/ owners ever. I'm not sure. I have only worked for corporate America once. Always a small corporation or business. But my experience in the restaurant /service industry is amazing. I started in a pizzeria at 14. I worked for up and coming businesses, helping with start up and launching, training employees.always loved my job. But at the end of the day I am a service employee, I spent my days making other people feel better about their lives. If my boss/manager/owner knows l got f*cked on a tip, they slid me something...I have had so many hands in the tipped position it is seriously ridiculous. Casinos, restaurant, pool grl... bartender. When you work for real people and not a logo life is a little better. Thank you for coming to my ted talk about my job. And yes I get stiffed and deal with all the BS.im the oldest person that works front of house as a cashier/barista/ server/ busser/ take out orders(phone)/so I get to be the person to deal with unruly customers when the owners are busy.
