Serato hanging up and making scratching noises

Hi,

What can I do to reduce the times Serato starts lagging and making resulting loud scratching noises?

I have a 1 year old laptop with plenty of power. Wifi is off. Running no other programs (that I know of) at the same time.

I can’t replicate it and it seems random. Using the faders MIGHT make it happen more often, but not positive.

Is there anything I can do? I was 30 mins into recording a mix and got 5 seconds of screeching while the waveforms lagged.
