So I put this surgery off for two years because even tho I’ve had surgery before, it was scary to have one in my face. My advice is to seek out several ENT’s opinion, ask them about the technique they use (do they shave down the septum or try to straighten it?) and go with one that inspires trust. I went to three, the first two wanted to operate my turbinates too and I could not deal with the risk of ENS. The one I went with told me he never operates on turbinates, and he is an ENT and plastic surgeon. I honestly should have done the surgery before because it was very easy. You have to deal with congestion for a bit but the pain was very manageable and I wouldn’t even call it pain, more like pressure. Day 3 after surgery I stopped taking tylenol and haven’t ever since. My nose is still a bit sore to the touch and scabs inside, but I can breathe through both nostrils! Everyone is different but I had minimal bleeding, and a great result. Worth finding a good surgeon!
