Am I alone in saying when used daily lip oils / masks dry out my lips more than hydrate?

I’ve had every raved about lip oil and lip mask from Ole Hendrickson to Summer Fridays to laneige etc however after continued use my lips GET chapped. And it takes a good week of vasoline to make them better. I’ll use them on occasion but I have no idea how some use them consistently daily. Do lip oils and masks chap your lips too?
