Anyone tried a trial separation?
Post Body

Ive been married 18 years and struggling to stay in the relationship for a while now. I haven't really been very honest about the issues until recently and we have started going to a marriage counsellor. Im at the point where I no longer feel any affection for her and want a fresh start, she wants to try to work it all out and is worried about how a separation would impact on our three teenage kids.

I am thinking of floating the idea of a short trial separation, more so for me to get clarity about how I really do feel being apart. Has anyone tried that and if so, what have your experiences been?
