8g needle for 8g barbell. Plans are RPA and Frenum.

I intend on doing my own frenum and an RPA. Have had a regular PA that was places too deep by piercer and I ditched it because healing sucked and then went with an RPA that ended up being too shallow.
The holes were done with 8g and I plan on doing it again but by myself this time. Anyone here have experience doing their own RPA? Seems rather simple IMO.
