Debate. does playing dark souls and being good at it make sekiro easier or harder?

As someone who played dark souls I struggled a lot because I was playing this game like a souls being very passive, waiting for openings and rolling out of attacks ect and I got punished a lot, whereas I got to one of the shinobi bosses and started to be more aggressive and relying on my deflect rather than roll and it took some of the difficulty out of the combat. What’s your thought on this?
