Hi folks! I came across an ad in my local facebook marketplace for a Seiko 5 “Golden Tiger” 33mm case watch that looked pretty nice. I’m very new to watch collecting and have tried to look up the watch to no avail.
The seller said that his brother “back home” serviced it (my spidy senses are tingling). The serial number is 660585 and I’ve also attached photos. I like the dial but the case shape is really what drew me in.
I’m wondering 1) is the golden tiger is an actual model, 2) what are some clues to fonding out if this is a genuine watch, and 3) would it be easy to find parts or even replacement movements for repairs? I’d appreciate if someone could provide some insight, thanks!
