Do countries talk to each other regarding security clearances?

So Iām a dual US/Australian citizen from birth. I currently work in the Australian and have a security clearance in Australia. If I were to hypothetically at some point take up a job with the US government aside from scrutinizing my allegiance (which Australia did) would the two countries communicate with each other about my details?
