So, I’m M21 and have been dealing with hairloss in the front scalp part of my hairline since early 2020. At first, my temples were slowly (very slowly) receding which of course caused me to begin panicking and worry I was starting to bald already. This is also around the same time I began growing my hair out. Over the course of the last couple years, my temples begain thinning more and more. However, the middle of my hairline (and the small area behind it) began rapidly thinning. During this whole time period I had also been dealing with a good amount of dandruff and itchiness on that same front part of my scalp.. The light bulb didn’t hit until I googled around and stumbled across a Reddit post with the exact same seb. derm. symptoms I was experiencing (hairloss included).
Now, truthfully I think I was initially beginning the stages of MPB since my scalp irritation didn’t begin until like early 2021. I also noticed some hair growing back on my temples so now they don’t look as bad as they used to, which makes me certain this is seb. derm. with maybe a little MPB mixed in (very early stages like basic hairline recession). But to have my entire front scalp hairline area just rapidly thin like that, especially including having scalp irritation with ALL symptoms of seb derm got me thinking I finally found why I was thinning like I was. Now it’s not BAD bad, I can still style it to look like I have a perfect hairline (thank GOD I grew my hair out) but if I brush my hair back it’s quite bad looking in the front. Those that have dealt/are dealing with my situation.. where tf do I start? (Also: I’m a black male with curly hair if that helps)
