Does MCT oil actually work?

I've seen people discussing MCT oil here before as a remedy for seb derm, to me it gives off snake oil vibes. Especially when you can only really find it on Amazon from really obscure brands, it's never in any grocery stores/drug stores. I don't know, I'm sceptical.

Another thing I've found is that there isn't an MCT brand (that I've found at least) that is tailored towards seb derm use, they all seem to be for athletes and the sort. Would be really great if there was a brand specifically for seb derm use, considering that it can't contain lauric fatty acids, and some of the brands I've found contain this.
