Hi community -
Ever want to help the homeless directly but without giving them cash and ensuring they’re working hard on their own behalf? Here you go!
There have been a few parent/kids/babies recently who have worked hard to secure permanent housing at True Hope on Yesler - thank you for your help supporting them! There’s another move out next week but this time it’s a male veteran. It can be easier to rationalize helping kids/families but I wanted to post his needs in the event anyone is interested in showing support.
From his case manager: “He is a 25 year vet with an honorable discharge. He is commissioned but is not currently receiving his benefits owed. We are working on that and it will be given to him in due time. He has been homeless for a long time and is finally moving into his own private unit after many ups and downs. He compiled this list and will be thankful for anything and everything that is given. He is super sweet and is so deserving of the help.”
Here’s is his Amazon wishlist. All items will be sent directly to his manager at true hope — I think you’ll find from some of his requests that he’s still very much into camo!

As always, thank you for helping our neighbors! I’ve been a volunteer at true hope for over a year and chose it as the place I dedicate time as they screen for drugs, help a lot of families, require employment or actively trying and ensure the residents are working hard to help themselves.
