Me and my wife went to Lowery C. “Pop” Mounger Pool. As soon as we got in, we noticed every single adult was there with a kid. We were the only two people who did not have kids. We moved to Seattle last year from Europe, I’ve lived in both Berlin and London and our experience there was always the same. There were some kids, sure, but there were also a lot of adults/couples swimming around or sitting by the pool having a beer. I did not expect that last part here, but I also did not expect to only see people with children as it not only was kind of awkward being the only adults swimming among kids but also not possible to enjoy the pool because there were so many kids jumping around in there. Am I experiencing a culture shock? Are pools a thing meant only for children here? Or have we just gone at a bad time?
Edit: I should add this was the time slot for recreational swimming.
The neighborhood is super family friendly, I'd rather use the pool at the gym.
