Andrew, your gracious choice of words reminds me of what happened in a recent episode of HBOMax's "Succession" when Tom's cringe worthy, awkward moment of forced mingling with upper executive management to ensure his presence is known and acknowledged amongst the sharks looking to find their place in the pecking order,
Andrew's inspirational comment, and sound bite of saccharine intention, appearing to be really heartfelt and interested in solving the city's real problems....kinda like when he ignores the pleas from the small businesses in his district, trying to get an acknowledgement, at the very minimum, to which their concerns fall on deaf years. Because of your lack of taking action then, you arrogantly think the citizens are too dumb to come to realize your not trustworthy and you go AWOL when crap hits the fan.
