My husband runs and is thinking of getting a shirt that states he's fully vaccinated to run in. He usually has a "neck gaiter" style mask on that he pulls up if he's passing people or has to wait at a stoplight. But, mostly, he's been running on side streets to try to avoid crowds instead of the "main routes" he used to enjoy taking. (Dodging into the bike lanes isn't as easy as it once was now that car and bike traffic have resumed.)
He'd like to return to the main routes now that he's fully vaccinated, but he's concerned about people getting annoyed that he's not staying masked the whole time or feeling like he's encroaching on space as he passes while masked. (Because they, of course, don't know his vax status, and the guidance for when you're fully vax vs. not is different.)
We're debating between us whether wearing a t-shirt proclaiming full-vax status will do anything in terms of making the people he passes feel more comfortable. I think that most people won't read the shirt to know, nor will they care, and he'll still get dirty looks and typical p/a reactions. I also feel like it's kind of a weird humblebrag, as well as a shirt that has a limited timespan (or so I hope). He thinks it will help.
What do y'all think?
