If anyone was looking to start a farm...
Post Body

Hi Seattle,

My mother inherited her family's homestead a few years back. Since then, we've mainly used it for camping and have casually entertained the idea of moving up there but it seems as though it just isn't in our cards...

But we were thinking that someone else might be interested in renting/leasing/buying part or all of it to start a farm. There is currently a barn that is in fairly good condition that has electricity and power. The fields have never had anything but hay grown on them for as long as any of us know. My grandfather use to run cattle on it but since he past away we've been letting one of the local family friends cut and keep the hay in exchange for some beef every year. There are four parcels totaling about 80 acres, some of which is wooded. There is about 2700 feet of river frontage on the Nooksack river.

We'd be interested in anyone who might want to rent/lease/buy some of the land. The only drawback is that there is no house. But if you throw up a Yurt, you'd be set! We don't have much in mind as to a price and are willing to entertain any offers.

I threw up a quick page with some pics. If you know anyone who might be interested let me know. http://sites.google.com/site/acmefarmstead/
