Wandered in to Fort of The Damned and all the lanterns were already lit

Was passing by on my way to Crooked Masts and realised I'd never actually set foot on the island and had a look at it. Went in to the fort itself and all the statues already had flames on them.
Is this a bug? Had someone been there before me and logged out after lighting them?
Has there been a stealth nerf to the difficulty by having them lit at all times?
Anyone been on the fort recently and found the same?
