I just watched the news for the new hunter update coming out. I saw that the harpoon guns were being added (which im EXTREMELY hyped for) and came up with an idea of my own: The Grapple Gun: This would be a great utility item to have in the game. Although it may seem like an OP idea, I think that there could be some downsides to "balance" it out.
First off, I think that it should take up a weapon slot. This way you can get lots of maneuverability, and reach high up places, but at the cost of taking a weapon slot.
Secondly, I think that it should have to ability to be cut. This prevents people from endlessly using it, especially when it comes to things such as boarding.
Next, I think it should be noticeably loud. This allows people to board ships, but also have the crew on the ship recognize that someone has just boarded their ship, allowing for no suprises.
Lastly, I think that it should have unlimited ammo (as long as it's not cut) at the cost of having a long reload. This could be anything from having a crank maybe on the side that you have to crank to wind the rope back in, or just bringing the rope back in by hand and "re-cocking" it.
