You guys are absolutely right, there is supposed to be risk. But humor me for a second. What is the risk right now for a four man crew attacking a solo player? I'll help you out; There is none!

The risk needs to go both ways. If there's no risk at all for a four man crew to be wiped out by a solo player, then your "there's supposed to be risk" defense holds no water. Players can respawn right on the ship faster than it would take a solo player to come anywhere close to eliminating a whole crew, or fix the ship faster than a solo player could ever destroy it. The four player crew would have to be totally incompetent for that to happen, meaning it's nearly impossible. Relying on incompetency for your game to be balanced is the perfect recipe for a bad game.

I want this game to be good. But something needs to change to the game to add some risk in these unbalanced situations. Maybe you respawn on a random island nearby and your crew needs to pick you up. That way a small crew or solo player has at least a slight chance to defend themselves and win an engagement with a bigger crew if they can slowly pick them off.

This doesn't mean putting smaller crews and bigger crews on equal footing, before anyone tries to accuse me of saying that. But there needs to be a way for small crews to at least have a fighting chance. Anyone who tries to argue over giving players even a small chance to survive is not arguing in good faith.

There aren't just two sides to this. You don't have to be for PvP only, shoot on sight, cutthroat, no mercy gameplay. You don't have to be for safe zones, separate PvE servers, or a safe mode toggle like GTA. There's a middle ground here where the game can be fun for everyone and give everyone a fighting chance.
