Well Here's my Idea.

Sea Of Thieves Update The Coming Storm

New Faction- Storm Chasers.

This faction comes with quests that you can then start, when starting the quest the vendor will give you an item called "Lightning Rod"

You then set off to find the Storm and enter into it, holding the rod in the air will cause it to be struck by lightning and this will summon a new enemy type that fights.

At lower ranks in the faction it will spawn two sloops. These sloops are manned by pirates made of pure electricity. When these enemies shoot your ship with a cannonball it does not damage it traditionally. Instead it causes your ship to be struck by lightning. Additionally when your ship is struck by lightning there is a chance that the electric crew members board your ship and begin to attack you. When the damage you they shock you and chain electricity to your nearby allies.

As you level up in the faction the ships you face change. And they become more difficult to face. However it becomes more rewarding.

These pirates have their own versions of currently existing ones as well as their own unique loot.

So here is what you will face and what your possible loot is from your foes.

Faction Level 1-15

Two sloops.

Potential Rewards from each sloop defeated.

Electrified Seafarer's Chest Coins earned-( No Emissary Levels) 500-700

Electrified Disgraced Bounty Skull Coins Earned- (No emissary levels) 600-800

These ships can drop up to two of these each.

Meaning if you are lucky you can have both sloops drop 4 chests and 4 skulls.

Cannon Ball Crate with special Cannon balls- When damaging an enemy ships they are struck by lightning.

15-30

You will face again two brigs.

Rewards-

Electrified Captain's Chest Coins Earned- 1700- 2100

Electrified Villainous Bounty Skull- Coins Earned 1500- 1800

Electrified Crate Of Exotic Silks- 750- 1500

Cannonball Crate of Lightning Balls.

These ships are able to drop 2 of each of these as well. Meaning perfect rng would net you

4 chests, 4 skulls, and 4 crates.

Faction Level 30-45

You will face three galleons.

Rewards- Electrified Captain's Chest

Electrified Villainous Bounty Skull

Electrified Crate of Of Exquisite Spices Coins earned- 1750-2500

And a rare chance for one to drop a ChargeBolt Chest.

ChargeBolt Chests are special and our extremely valuable, however transporting them is very risky and you have to be ready to repair your ship, because the chargebolt Chest will occasionally summon lightning strikes on itself.

ChargeBolt Chest Coins Earned- 6500-7500

These ships can drop up to three of each item except for the chargebolt Chest.

The chargebolt Chest has a low chance to spawn but when it does it only spawns one.

So a perfect rng reward of these quests would net you

9 Chests 9 Skulls 9 Spice Crates And 1 chargebolt Chest.

Faction Level 45-50

You will face 5 galleons.

These galleons have the best rewards and are the most difficult.

When Defeating a ship at this level it is guaranteed to drop a Chargebolt Chest and a ChargeBolt Skull.

ChargeBolt Skull- A Skull of pure electricity that acts as a weapon as well as being very valuable. This Skull can electrocute enemies and shock them causing them to be stunned and chain electricity to nearby enemies.

Fully Charged ChargeBolt Skull- Coins Earned- 7500-9000

Defeating these ships will net you 5 chargebolt chests and 5 chargebolt skulls.

Turn these rewards into the Storm Chasers to earn reputation, as your rank increases you will unlock new cosmetics for your character and ship that are all Storm themed.

Want a fishing rod that has a line made of electricity?

How about a drum that has the design of a hurricane/typhoon in the middle.

And there are many more cool cosmetics to earn as well.
