Post Body

I had set sail on a galleon, looking to do some world events with two of my friends who were brand new. We came across a sloop, and told them to join the alliance or die. The sloop just ran, so we let them go as we just wanted to have a bit of fun, and chasing an empty ship is no fun. A bit later a brig sails up to us waving an alliance flag, so we join up. They tell us they have 6 ritual skulls and want some help stacking them. The brig crew recruits the sloop we fired on before, and we all meet at the FotD and begin the events. Anytime a ship would approach, the brig would go handle it and sink them within 60 seconds flat. After about 2 hours of stacking we start divying loot, and the brig crew says they don't really care about the loot and just want completions for a commendation. The sloop just wanted the reaper chests, and said we could have the rest. So we spend around 20 minutes loading loot, everyone helping out, and as we're finishing up, someone from the brig pops an Athena keg on us, and we sink in seconds.

Two of my friends uninstalled on the spot, one of them having only 12 hours. He said he's never going to play again. I go back over to tell them I'm disappointed, and they just laugh and say it was the long con.

I suppose it's my own fault for being so naive. I had completed glitterbeard with 11 pirates the night before, and I guess I thought the community was coming around to co-operative play. The crew was so nice, and I especially feel bad for the solo slooper that joined, he was such a nice guy. I tried to add him as a friend while I was over there but they sunk him as well, and I just logged out because I was feeling so defeated. My (now duo) gally stood no chance against them, so I just went to bed, empty handed and broken hearted.

Edit: There were four of us on the galleon, two of them being new.
