I've read the other posts on this topic and am looking to address specific points that other posts elude to but don't address entirely. In this generation, stand up comedians are sometimes resigned appologize for their comedic content (which imo is fairly inexcusable for a number of reasons).
For this exact reason, I think Scrubs if made today as is, would flop. A lot of the jokes I felt poked fun at the edges of society as a teen, aren't so anymore. I realize what I'm saying is subjective but here are my thoughts.
I am fairly certain a lot of scrubs would not work today - and that the changes required would make it a very different show. Here is why:
1) Gay Jokes 2) "Toxic Masculinity" Jokes 3) Sexist Jokes 4) manic pixie dream girl enamored JD 5) Soundtrack
I want to be clear (as clear as I can be rambling lol), 4 & 5 are why I love the show, but for similar logic for why 1-3 won't be received well today, id argue these also don't have the same "acceptance" they once did.
What do yall think?
