Post Body

I was YouTubing some Tarantino interviews recently and I was quite surprised that he admitted that usually he writes a scene and doesn't always have an idea where it's going to go afterwards. Sometimes he might have a basic premise (such as in Kill Bill - at some point she's going to kill Bill) but other times he is finding out about his characters and where they go at the same time as writing.

So do you start off writing, knowing every detail of your characters and where the plot is going or do you prefer to just write and see where it takes you?

Is there a plus to writing and not knowing or is that dangerous territory? Do you feel more comfortable writing with a basic plot and structure in place?
