Following on from the post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Screenwriting/comments/cy8khb/hollywood_screenwriter_attempts_to_write_a_scene/ and the video Hollywood screenwriter attempts to write a scene in 7 minutes video, I thought we could run a similar challenge here.
The rules: Using the below prompts, write a scene no longer than 2 pages maximum. Once written, upload and post your story for others to read/comment/offer feedback. After 24 hours, the story with the most ‘upvotes’ is the ‘’winner’’ and gets to post the next set of prompts.
*if you post your first draft before the end of the 24 hours [that’s 24 hours after this post goes live] you may have the opportunity to use any comments/feedback received to write and post a second draft*
This is all good fun so there are no real winners, per say, it’s just a way to nominate who gets to the post the next set of prompts. This is a great exercise for writers [new and established] and might even act as a great starting point for a full screenplay.
Sound like fun? I hope so! I look to get involved myself later on but for now, here are the first set of prompts and remember, 24 hours from when this post goes live is the deadline.
You have 24 hours to create a scene using the following parameters:
The year is 1992
The main character is lost
They recognise someone across the street
There is a piano
For some reason everyone is outside watching something
Characters:
Marnie (19)
Bradley (25)
Good luck!
