Writing a web series and am curious how to address location issues....

Post Body

So i'm writing my first web series but i'm having trouble with location. I'm somewhat new to the city/state I live in and I don't really know a lot of people yet. As i'm writing, I am keeping it to just a few locations, but I don't want it to be boring (apartment, house, yard). I would like at least one location that is a public gathering spot like a bar, diner or something similar. I am writing this as if I already have a place lined up but honestly, I'm not sure how to change the script if i end up not finding a place that will let us shoot there. I'd like to get some suggestions on how to handle this type of issue and maybe some likely location types that i'm maybe not considering that would still have that public gathering place for friends vibe.

On a side note, I've been reading through this subreddit for a while now and it's really been a great tool for a new writer. Thanks for all you do, tools.
