So, I’m working on a drama/Neo-Noir pilot script. 30 minute. Single cam.
I like to write a really solid outline before actually writing the script. I know what the story is about (theme, style I want to use, hero’s goal), and know what plot beats I want leading up to the all is lost/major setback moment.
But now I’m stuck. Im having a hard time coming up with a third act/finale that lines up with the rest of the story. I know I want to end things on a murder (as Im going for a very neo-noir vibe drawing influence from films like Blue Velvet, Devil in a Blue Dress, Chinatown, etc.) and I’ve studied that genre to the T. But for the life of me I can’t come up with a way that ends the Pilot so people will want to keep reading/watching.
Any advice will be appreciated!
