Is getting Scotiabank Amex Gold a smart idea?
Post Body

I’m 23, graduated from university, but only work full time at a retailer.

I do travel ALOT and have basic everyday purchases.

Just from 2020 I have had around 20 trips, either by road trip, or by plane which included various cities within Canada, a few to the USA, and some flights to the USA as well. The rest were international flights to Mexico, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

I don’t want high yearly fees, I don’t have high income. But I do want travel bonuses, points, and other perks mostly related to travel.

My credit score used to be above 800 in 2022-2023 but it got messed up because of an error that was made with my previous phone provider… which resulted in alot of missed payments that I was not aware of. Now it’s around 740, which is well above the minimum approval score listed in the website.

I have paid off my current card which is a simple started credit card. I only have student loans as debt which hasn’t started charging me yet

I got this card recommended by chat GPT (LOL) and it said it seems like a good card since my income isn’t too high either.
