Price: £49
Description: Glasgow distillery added malted barley spirit into Single Oloroso Hogshead, aged it for 7 years until it was bottled on 01/11/2024. 339 bottles were made available. The funky label is a tribute to the Glaswegian music venue, the Barrowlands.
ABV: 55.7%
My tasting notes: What can only be described as a sherry bomb, very appropriate for this time of year. Reasonably young, bold and extremely lively.
The liquid does come a cross a tad fiery to begin with, however I did find few drops of water calmed it right down.
The initial taste is very much like my grans christmas pudding and cherry sweeties mixed with some sweet wood spices.
At a fraction under £50 this is very much a cracking value for money dram, like I've mentioned it is a big, bold whisky and suits the style of spirit in the bottle.
It is a dram which, if you can acquire, is a lovely addition to any collection.
Get the release video watched as well, what a cracker and an ode to many of my frequented local venues whilst at university.
