Which covid vaccine is better for under 5? (Please read the flair)
Post Body

Discussion for pros and cons of each of the covid vaccines - 5 and younger formulation (as of this posting, expected to be available for administration next week), for anyone who chooses to get the vaccine for their child for any reason.

Criteria for "better" is purposely subjective. Can refer to efficacy, side effects, time/latency, sustainability, convenience, availability, or any other appreciation.

A summary of data-informed comments will periodically be updated below from the discussion. Kindly cite sources.

💉💉 The vaccine made by Moderna for 6-month-olds to 5-year-olds is a two-dose series, given four weeks apart.

💉💉💉 The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for 6-month-olds to 4-year-olds is a three-dose series. The first two shots are given three weeks apart, and the third one eight weeks after the second shot.

edit: I was going to compile a summary of the comments below, but since there are so few, I will not update the initial post any further. great input below though!!
