Scratched glass baby bottles?

Post Body

Hi all!

I started using glass baby bottles (Bibs) 6 weeks ago. I just noticed that all of the bottles badly scratched inside and out. I threw them away, but the new ones are also a little scratchy.

Is there a chance that the glass dust will seep into the formula? I am super nervous and can't tell if this is a serious concern or if I am just extremely paranoid. (Sorry for my English!)

Glass is a famously non-reactive material, which is why laboratory equipment is made out of it.

So in terms of leeching and contamination, it’s probably one of the safest things you can make a baby bottle out of. The scratches are probably from glass bottles rubbing each other when they’re being washed. I wouldn’t worry.

The big downside to glass is that it shatters so really just watch for sharp edges.
