Hi everyone! I have a question I was hoping I could get some help on. I put up a table and chairs sale on Craigslist and OfferUp. One potential buyer coming from Craigslist, offered to pay nearly full price so I decided to go ahead with the sale.

She offered to mail me a cashiers check which I was wary of but she did say that I could wait until the check cleared to release the items. She also mentioned sending movers to pick up the items. She asked for my address to send the check and the name to put on the check.

I figured there’s no harm in those two pieces of info since she could easily also just find me online. I gave her both. I feel that because she’s willing to wait for the check to clear, it’s probably pretty safe. However, I do know of the scam where people send a larger amount and then ask you to wire some money back. I’m hoping that doesn’t turn out to be the case here.

Is there any other way this could be a scam that I may not know about? I’d appreciate your input! Thanks!
