Some guy on Linkedin randomly offering to mentor me. Is it a scam?

This smells like a scam but I wanted to know your opinion on this. Basically this pharmacist on linkedin sent me a dm saying he wanted to mentoring. His profile shows he works as a pharmacist at Bell Market Pharmacy in PA and I called Bell’s Market and turns out he rly works there but Idk it’s so sus. I asked him is it paid he said it’s not paid and he’s not the one mentoring but he connects mentors with mentees. Is this a scam?
