Theres a scammer I've encountered on reddit a few times now.
I dont get what their aim is... they've made several reddits and several instagrams. I've caught, and called out, several of their accounts now.
The thing that I dont get though is I dont see what they are getting out of it.
They post a bunch of memes, and get a bunch of karma.... go around posting cliche copy and pastes or reposting successful 'friend' personal ads. and every time I've fallen for their ads they went through ELABORATE conversations just to ask me to add them on Instagram and ask me what my Instagram is.
I thought maybe it was about harvesting pictures? they've sent me a few accounts but I've seen most of them are of the same woman. They even said they accidentally sent me 'their real instagram' which I have tucked away somewhere. it never once had visible pictures and almost no followers. and of all the Instagram accounts its the only one still open so I'm inclined to believe it really is their real one.
They constantly delete the posts they make after a day or so... delete the conversations they had with me... and block me when I realize its 'them'. I actually have an alt account so I've made sure to go around the block to report each time and I usually report our chat conversations before I tell them I've caught on.
Anyone know what the angle is though? What ARE they getting out of all this?
