We went to CVS pharmacy because my little brother wanted to exchange his $100 cash for a visa gift card to purchase Christmas presents online for his family. When we took the card home it was package and looked normal but then it had no CVV in the back. It looked just completely blank. Either someone tampered with it or the company is responsible. Either way CVS refuses to refund us and said the merchant is responsible. We contact vanilla gift card which is owned by visa and they told us there’s nothing they can do about it and some guy on the line told us to send our personal info to a random email. So disheartening. I look this up on Reddit and apparently other people are also experiencing this common scam and not getting their money back.
This is just a scam alert! Be aware. So uncool and I am sickened to know someone isn’t responsible for this.
