I don’t know why but one of my biggest gripes with say anything’s output is how much he references the runaway success of his first album.
I’m sure it’s weird to have your small indie project blow up like it did, and for everything since to miss that same, kinda, right place right moment mark, but also it does seem like it’s something he’s let define him.
I do admire the boldness of his honesty because it can’t be an easy thing to feel like you’re constantly measuring up to the expectations set by something you did almost by accident. And honesty in his lyrics seems to be his USP I suppose.
No real point to this I guess. What’s your thoughts?
Personably IDOTG was bumped just as hard as IARB for me, so not speaking personally here. Just hard to ignore the obvious critical reception / cult status of IARB.
