Shantell Marie Nick was last seen in Lansing, Michigan sometime during the spring or summer of 2018. She is a mother of three children and at the time of her disappearance, she was 33 years old.
In a 2021 news article, Shantell's family noted that she was being distant from her family around the time of her disappearance and there were people in her life making her distance herself from her family. After a while, things did not seem right so they reported her missing in the summer of 2018.
The news article detailed the family's efforts to find her by placing flyers cars and knocking on doors. Shantell's sister, Rayshell, remarked they were inseparable and people often mistook them for twins. Her parents vowed to not give up looking for her.
Shantell's hair is often dyed blonde. She has several large burn scars in a linear pattern on her back, and the following tattoos: a word on her upper arm at the shoulder, a cross in the center of her upper chest, flowers on the right side of her neck, the cartoon character Mickey Mouse on her right ankle. and a tattoo on her finger.
