But I have always been fascinated by carnivorous plants and my only experience is with a Venus fly trap from years ago that was bought on a whim at a major hardware store. That being said, I also have an extensive garden of fruits, veggies, flowers, etc. so I do have a fairly green thumb.
Now I know I’ve read posts of y’all selling/trading plants and the like but I don’t really know what I like thus far, I know I like sundews and pitcher plants by the looks of them. So I want to order a small variety of relatively inexpensive plants this week. So ultimately my question is this: what websites are everyone’s most recommended for ordering carnivorous plants and supplies?
So far I’ve found “Predatory Plants”’s website and “Carnivorous Plant Nursery”‘s website. So far they both have some things that I like but their selection isn’t huge are these website decent? Are there others that you’d recommend or that are better?
Any advice is appreciated.
Edit: I live in Zone 9B in arizona. I want to start predominantly with indoor plants (I have plenty of windowsill space and I have professional grow lights) but I still want one or two plants for outdoors as well.
Yeah that would be pretty amazing! Thank you so much for the offer of help and plants! I am honestly so shocked at how big of a community and how wide spread the carnivorous plant community is! I was assuming it was mostly a niche thing for novelties.
I edited the post but in in zone 9B in arizona. So hot summers and cool (not cold) winters. 120 degree F summer maxes and like maybe 40 degree lows in the winters during the day (obviously night time temps can get to freezing but not crazy low). I want to start with a good amount of indoor sundews and maybe get a couple plants that would be outdoors but that I can still bring inside when needed during the winter. I have grow lights already.
