Tips for making barrel sauna hotter.
Post Body

Hi, I own a Watoga barrel sauna from Almost Heaven Saunas. For those unfamiliar with the dimensions, the interior is approx 6ft wide, 4.5ft deep. I upgraded the heater to 6kW vs the 4.5kW that it comes with by default.

In the past month or so, I have had a hard time getting above 160 degrees F, mainly hovering in the 155-160 range. I would like to get to 180 degrees consistently.

I have done a lot of tightening with the wooden staves, the temperature sensor is where they suggest to mount it (18in to the side of and 18 in above the heater). The bottom of the heater is 6-7 inches off the ground. I have not plugged the 2 vents beneath the heater and wonder if this would help? Any tips on what people have seen work would be greatly appreciated. -KL
