Saucony Guide 8 vs Saucony Guide 14 heel cup and heel lockdown
Post Body

I recently bought a pair of Saucony Guide 14s online assuming they would be very similar to my Saucony 8s that I have had for years but there is one thing I like considerably less about them and I'm wondering if anyone has advice on which Saucony Guides would be best for me. The 8s had a very strong heel cup and locked down the heel very well. The 14s have a much flimsier heel and more shallow back of the shoe. This is an issue for me as I wear orthopedic insoles and they lift me up out of the shoe by about an inch so a more shallow heel cup causes my heel to slip out on each step. Does anyone have an idea which year/edition of the Guide they went to this softer heel? I would like find the most recent edition that still had the nice firm, deep heel cup.

Thank you!
