Tips for getting ready for trains?

Hello Everyone!

I'm around 200 hours on this game, but never got much further than Tier 7, and even though aluminum got my a bit flustered, my biggest problem has always been long distance logistics.

On my first playthrough I ignored trucks because they were pretty unreliable back then and waited to get trains. Then when i go to trains, everything derailed (hehe). My factories where too small to adapt to trains, all the signals and interchanges with the rails really made my head hurt and i burned out from the game trying to rebuild my factories do adapt to it.

Then, on my second playthrough, on update 8, i decided to try a different approach. as soon as i got trucks, i started with a plan to create a roads system that would collect resources around the map and create a mega factory on the center and use that as my main factory. Turns out my brain isn't powerfull enough to handle a mega factory planning, much less such a big road network.

Then, I'm back here again. Around 5 hours on my newest playthrough, just unlocked coal power plants, and dreading the moment i'll need to start planning for trains. I kinda need a help and some pointers on how to get there without being completly unprepared for but also not having to spend dozens of hours stuck on the same tier trying to do something too big right at the start.
