Back to update 7?

Long story short, my old PC can't handle update 8. Suddenly, my favorite game become unplayable for me. Even with the lowest video setup I can't get an acceptable framerate so I assume there's no solution. I can't stand enough how sad and disappointed I am.
So, is there a way to get back to update 7? Either is this or give up with the game. :(((
