I'm a high school student facing challenges with my course schedule. I currently have a heavy load of 6 AP classes and one weighted course, along with college applications. Due to the workload, I approached my school counselor to inquire about switching from AP Government to ACC Government to ease the burden. The counselor suggested this might be possible.
However, when I contacted the dean of instruction to request the change, I received a response indicating that it couldn't be accommodated due to timing and process constraints at the school. I had already secured a spot in an ACC Government course, which is available as a distance learning option.
Now, I'm seeking advice on how to navigate this situation and whether there are any potential solutions or strategies to pursue this course change despite the initial denial. Is today, the last day of the grading period, still approachable for making a course change despite what my dean of instruction initially stated? The dean mentioned, 'We regret that we can't move forward with your request,' but I've secured a spot in an ACC Government course, including a distance learning option. Given that today marks the end of the grading period, can I revisit my request, and is there a chance to discuss this further with the school administration? Any advice on how to proceed in this situation would be greatly appreciated. I want to drop AP Gov for more time to study for classes like ap physics c... Do I meet the dean in the morning? Or email him that I got ACC?
