I haven't had access to the shower in my apartment for a week now. He and his buddy tore it up last Saturday and said it would be done Sunday.
They never showed Sunday. (Supposedly his buddy hurt his back. I think its a lot more likely that he priorritized his full-paying clients over his cheap mooching friend.) Didn't come back until Tuesday. Didn't finish Tuesday. Didn't finish Wednesday. Hasn't responded to two texts now asking when the job would be finished.
"Oh, the bath works."
I'm a black woman with genetically high maintenance hair that requires a SHOWER. It's infuriating that I know this man's reputation around town and he's always had this kind of fuckery going on as a landlord.
The people who live in his house all have health issues that either we couldn't get financial help for (me) or had to sell a house because they couldn't get financial help in time to keep their own home. So, we ended up where the rent is cheap because some man was lucky enough to have a father leave him a paid for house as an inheritance. I can't imagine having that kind of privilege and being so cavalier about it. Much less presenting yourself to the community as a caring, compassionate humanitarian and not granting your tenants the human dignity of maintaining your property.
Rant over 😒
