Okay so I don’t know if this is the case with every PCOS person, I know every case is different but I know a lot of people have said on this thread some suspect she doesn’t actually have PCOS, and I don’t know how much of a claim that is or if there is any evidence she is faking it or never actually got diaognosed and just self diaognosed. of course no one needs to prove whether they do or not so assuming she does…
I showed my friend who has severe PCOS and who has found going vegan has been the only things that’s worked for her specific issues…. (She finally has her period back, her acne is less & she’s finally loosing the huge amount of weight she gained, sex drive back etc etc if you’ve got pcos you know what she means)
(which sorry also side note what’s the statistics of those with pcos having weight issues vs those with it who I guess in Sarah’s case stay super skinny is just cause she works out so hard that any possible weight issues she’d have from the pcos is no exisiting or is it more common then not with pcos to not get weight issues, only ask because my friend says a lot of the people in her support group usually have major struggles with loosing weight)
Back to main point I showed my friend Sarah’s diet, as many up to date “what I eat in a days” & also her specific videos on her pcos and she told me she was quite a bit concerned of her sharing these tips on food choices because apprantly quite a few of the foods Sarah eats at considered bad or triggers for pcos symptoms? Now I don’t know enough on this to say whether it is or isn’t my friend is just going of her experience, her support group & the doctor she works with that gave her a list of foods to avoid of minimise.
So anyone else here with pcos that can tell me if my friends concerns are valid? Is she eating things that should/would actually be triggering her pcos and because she never shows the issues you get with pcos we don’t know what she actually suffers with?
To note common issues I looked up that come under day to day pcos feelings are:
Menstrual: abnormal menstruation, absence of menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, short and light menstruation, or spotting (she did say she lost her period but I think she said that was from how hard she was working out)
Weight: obesity, overweight, or weight gain
Also common: infertility, acne, depression, inappropriate male features, loss of scalp hair, oily skin, or unwanted hair (I.e dark chin hair, dark arm pits, hair on other areas of the body other than the usual so breasts, stomach (above belly button), back etc.
Thoughts? Opinions? Curiosities?
