Post Body

My family and I are touched and humbled by everyone who commented on our Christmas dinner offer. You all were so kind to share your family traditions, struggles, and favorite meals, so I thought it only appropriate to share a little about us in return. (Feel free to skip to the bottom for winners if that's what you're here for lol)

My home is a family of 4 - myself, my husband, and our 2 boys (14 and 5). We have repeatedly said throughout the pandemic that we have been so fortunate for the small extent that we have been negatively affected. We both work in IT, and had a very easy time switching to working from home (I had already worked from home for about 3 years pre-covid). Both of our boys adjusted well to school at home when it was needed. We are by no means "rich", but have not struggled this Christmas, and could think of no better way to celebrate and spread joy than to share with as many people as we could! I'm hoping this perspective rubs off on our boys too - we're trying to raise them to be good people and to take care of others whenever possible. So, when my very-teenagerish 14 year old said yesterday "can we give to all of them?" I almost broke down.

I came from a family of givers. Growing up, we were not "poor", but were also not quite "comfortable". We got by, and my parents took wonderful care of my brother, my sister, and myself. I remember vividly every Christmas morning being absolutely magical - with NO IDEA how so many presents ended up under our tree. Our house was open every Christmas to anyone who needed a place to celebrate, feel loved, for eat a warm meal. My family Christmases growing up are absolutely why Christmas is so special to me today.

Now here's the fun part - I KNEW my Mom would be so excited about this contest, so I called and told her all about it. OF COURSE she wanted in! So she and my dad decided to pick a winner too!

BUT that's not where we stopped... we couldn't each just pick one. So instead, we're going to try and help everyone who entered!

Mom and I each picked a winner - they will each receive $50 for Christmas dinner!

Everyone else, we'd like to give $25 each. We realize that may not cover an ENTIRE dinner, but maybe a ham, some sides, or even a yummy dessert. I'll tag everyone below, please send me a message and if I can paypal, venmo, or purchase you a gift card! (Also if I missed anyone, please message me and let me know)
