Hello, We live in Florida where it doesn't snow so its OK. My name is Bonnie. I hope I am doing this right. I am mom to three kids. I have not done this before but am really hopeful the Santas here can help us. To say that has been a hard year is an understatement. Really would love to be able to put something under the tree for them this year. We live with my patents but they can't help much more than that. My father ended up in the hospital and is home but bed bound. They are making payments on his bills due to not so great insurance. Mom also got hours cut due to covid. This year and last.
My health also went down hill this year. I got diagnosed with gastroparesis, fatty liver disease, anemia, an enlarged bladder and esophagus, and large ulcer where my stomach meets up with the esophagus. Went in thinking I was constipated only to be admitted. Quite the shock from healthy to not. But I rather talk about the kids.
My oldest is Logan. He is 19 years old. He is studying Engineering at Florida Polytechnic University. He is attending thanks to scholarships. They only give him one meal a day though. We use food stamps to cover the rest. He got good grades and it helped him go to college. He studied it in magnet type program in high school. He is in Archery there. He also is in several clubs including for Star Wars dueling club, and Dungeons and Dragons gaming. He is a bit nerdy. He loves Star Wars, Marvel/ DC, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Magic the gathering.Â
My middle child is Theresa. She is 17 years old. She graduated in June. She was in Show Choir (very active lots of dancing with singing) during high school. But she basically had to sit out her Senior year due to health issues. She was in hospital homebound the year before (due to trauma from bullying and assaults on campus) but was forced to go in person on campus to graduate. She got diagnosed with Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (aka P.O.T.S.) this year. She ended up in the Emergency Room may times over the years related to it but got really crazy last year or so. She ended up dislocating both her knees due to it in January. She got dizzy and feel off the back 6ft riser landing on her feet. Ended up in the hospital for days for it. Then a wheelchair etc for months after. But despite it all she graduated. Hopefully she will be able to go to college somehow. She has lots of mental health issues some related to school trauma. P.T.S.D , depression, anxiety, body body dysmorphia, insomnia, night terrors, possibly others. She has been gaining with mental health help though. Long ways to go. But we are also trying to get her disability hopefully. She loves Art, Music, Fashion design, Anime, Japanese snacks and soda, Grey's Anatomy, Lucifer, Star Wars, Marvel/DC, Harry Potter, Nightmare before Christmas, sketching, reading, European Candy, and stuffed animals.
My youngest child is Dylan. He is 9 years old. He is in Fourth grade. He is in gifted (only kid in the county to test into it in Kindergarten). He has said he wanted to be a paleontologist since then as well. Though now may be wanting to be the first paleontologist in space. Dinosaurs in space anyone? Or maybe a scientist. He loves school. Especially Science and Math. He has quite the sense of humor. He is very social. He also has a lot of special health needs. He was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (oglio subtype) in kindergarten. Has been progressing worse lately. Makes him have issues with his knees, hands, and feet. He also has Sinding-Larsen-Johansson Syndrome (which also effects the knees), asthma, eczema, severe vitamin D deficiency, TMJ, Arthritis of the jaw, and muscles that are to tight that rip his bones apart (knee cap so far). He is in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech. He has to see lots of specialists. He also has lots of adaptive device needs which often aren't covered by insurance. I am trying to get disability for him. He really would like to see snow. Does not understand why it does not do that here. He loves Dinosaurs, Lego's, Space, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Star Wars, Marvel/DC, Lord of the Rings, reading, Magic Tree house, classic books, oh yes and Dinosaurs.
My daughter also helped make the wish lists. She wanted me to make one with some things so I would relax like my doctor says I should. Part of why I am trying to teach myself to do crochet and eventually knitting and such. My grandmother left me patterns and supplies when she died but never was able to teach me. So trying to use it now. I promised I would put the list here like my daughter asked me to. Thank you for reading and maybe considering us.
