Team, it makes me very happy to announce that Bernie will be on the New York State ballot!
As most of you know, this was not done instantaneously. New York has a tedious ballot petitioning process. This was achieved with the hard work and effort of many people from all over the state. Whereas Hillary's campaign decided to pay folks to collect signatures ($10/hr via craigslist), all of our volunteers did it for free. Not only that, but we continued to work through a blizzard; the second largest in NYC history at that.
With all of that we collected a tremendous 85,000 signatures! More than the Clinton campaign! Also, we collected the appropriate amount of signatures for every. single. district to make sure are delegates are there for the primary as well.
I just left NYC's city hall where we held the official press conference and the team is bringing the petitions to the BOE as I type this. Even in the rain it was a great turnout and a great event. The conference not only featured the aforementioned signature total, but also new endorsements from state politicians and union leaders. The rest of the petitions are being delivered to Rochester and tomorrow there will be a second press conference in Albany for the final boxes.
I will collect pictures and will search for the NBC News video when it is released later to share with you all. I would suggest checking /r/NewYorkforSanders for all of that later today/tonight.
New York State is DEFINITELY Feeling the Bern!
