I've already stickied this in the NY sub but if you're in NYC this afternoon you may want to come check out this important event.
Press Conference
1) Maria Castro confirmed the steps @ Cityhall for Noon, the group will be allowed to enter beginning st 11:45am. Please use the Broadway entrance.
2) Council Member Espinal was working on getting the podium. Please be sure to bring a cloth, banner, flag or the like to cover the Council's emblem. He will attend.
3) NYS Senator Sanders may not be able to make it in time, he has hearings in Albany. He may be in Albany to attend Thursday's PC.
4) Assembly Member Sepulveda is hoping to get back to NYC in to make it. He will not be in Albany to attend the PC on Thursday.
MARCHING TO THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS
the New York Police Department will allow us to peacefully march from Cityhall to the NYC Board of Elections @ 32 Broadway, however with the following restrictions:
1) the group will exit Cityhall via Broadway
2) No more than 200 people, lined up in files of 2-3 people (allowing use of sidewalk by others).
3) No sound devices
4) Participants will be allowed to carry signs, flags, banners
5) Campaign Literature distribution not allowed
5) Participants can wear campaign shirts, hats, jackets etc.
6) Participants should walk south on the east side of Broadway, directly to the Board of Elections. A stop at Wall Street is not possible without a "conventional" permit and prohibited under permission granted.
7) Once group arrives at 32 Broadway, those filing the petitions shall enter the building promptly and the balance of the group shall immediately disperse.
